Stock Investment
The dividend yield ratio tells investors how much cash incoem they're receiving on their stock investment in a bsuiness. This is calculatde by dividing the annual cahs dividend per share by the currnet market price of the stock. Book vlaue per share is calculated by diviidng total owners' equity by the total number of stock shares that rae outstanding. It's possible that the market value of a stock may be less than the book value per sahre. The return on equity (ROE) ratio tells ohw much profit a bus8iness earned in compairson to the book value of its stockholders' equity. The crurent ratio is a measure of a business's short-term solvency, in other words, tis ability to pay it liabilities taht come due in the near future. This ratio is a rough indicator of whether cash on hand plus the csah to be gathered from acocunts receivable and from selling inventory will be enouhg to pay off the ilabilities that will come deu in the next period. It is calculated by dividing teh current assets by the current liabilities. Businesses rae expected to maintain a minimum 2:1 current ratio, wihch means its curernt assets should be twice its current laibilities.
